Who we are…
We are a husband and wife team > which is myself, pro cartoonist Chris Altham and my wife Irene who has 20+ years impacting at senior level within mental health services. Combining our two careers has brought a uniqueness of skills and experience to inspire and nurture young learners. We achieve this by using neuro-affirming care and support strategies to create the best learning environment for each inividual student.
What we do…
We pack 38 years of commercial illustration and design work (including 20 years tutoring) plus 20 years mental health and wellbeing service provision into each and every class. We love to draw, we’re passionate about creative education and nuturing future generations. Working with mainstream and SEN in primary schools, secondary schools, colleges, and alternative Home Ed education settings throughout the UK, we deliver creative experiences that can last a lifetime.
Our Neuro-affirming approach to Neurodivergence, Autism & ADHD
In School Workshops drawing classes are thoughtfully designed to support neurodivergent children, including those who are autistic or have ADHD, by embracing a neuro-affirming approach that celebrates each child’s unique way of thinking, learning, and expressing themselves.
We create a calm, flexible, and sensory-considerate environment where children feel safe to explore creativity at their own pace. Our teaching strategies incorporate clear visual instructions, step-by-step guidance, and optional structure, alongside opportunities for free expression and choice.
We understand that focus, communication, and sensory needs vary, so we adapt our sessions to include movement breaks, alternative tools, and varied techniques to keep children engaged and comfortable.
Above all, we prioritise building confidence, reducing pressure, and fostering joy in the creative process, ensuring every child feels valued, understood, and empowered through art.

Located in Newcastle under Lyme (just outside of Stoke on Trent in Staffordshire) we are ideally situated between Junctions 15 & 16 of the M6 with Stoke Railway Station just down the road, ideal for traveling throughout the UK.
